Anyone know cosplay? Cosplay is a shortened version of costume play. It’s when you dress as a character from a movie, book, manga, or some other entertainment medium. Cosplayers usually come out in spades at fan conventions, but occasionally you’ll find us out and about in the real world. I enjoy cosplay and I enjoy books. What better way to enjoy both worlds than by combining them?
So I absolutely crushed hard on Avry of Kazan from Maria V. Snyder’s Healer series. If you haven’t read it yet, what are you doing? Go buy it, go read it, and then go cosplay as Avry at the next convention near your town!
Avry always struck me as practical yet stylish. The novels mention several times her affinity for gray clothing and the sentient lilies. The outfit averages out to just shy of $200 (damn gorgeous earrings!), but is perfect for walking in the cold wintry air.
